Braun x Virgil Abloh
DESIGN IS A LANGUAGE
A 1960s icon. A 21st-century lens. A message that still holds.
For Braun’s centenary, we didn’t want a tribute.
We wanted a conversation.
So we invited Virgil Abloh™ to reinterpret the Wandanlage — one of Braun’s most quietly radical pieces of industrial design.
The result wasn’t louder. Just more aware.
More attuned to the culture it was re-entering.
Stripped back, not nostalgic.
Minimal, tactile, and full of intent — a physical manifestation of what Virgil called purposeful design.
We barely touched the form. That wasn’t the point.
The point was to reframe it. To make space for new meaning to live inside an old masterpiece.
Because legacy means nothing unless you know what to do with it.
“We all make stuff. The goal is to make it with purpose.” — Virgil Abloh™
